I believe the greatest opportunity of the AI age is not productivity.
It’s human liberation.
For the first time, ordinary people have access to tools that can help them learn unfamiliar skills, explore ideas, solve problems and build things that once required teams, specialists and substantial capital.
That changes more than how we work.
It changes what becomes possible for an individual.

They are wrong.
Your knowledge and experience may be far more valuable than your job description suggests. AI gives more people than ever before access to tools that can help them build something tangible from what they already know.
The question is no longer simply: What job am I qualified to do?
The more interesting question is: What am I uniquely qualified to create?
AI amplifies the human behind the prompt.
Give two people access to exactly the same AI tools and they will not create the same life. Because the tool is not the whole equation. The human matters — what you believe is possible, what you’re afraid to lose, the identities you’re attached to, your capacity to distinguish what you genuinely want from what you were taught to want.
AI can amplify your capacity. But it cannot decide who you are, what matters to you, or what kind of life is worth building. That part is still human.

Proof
My career makes far more sense backwards than it ever did forwards.
I’ve managed multi-million-rand marketing portfolios inside a multinational pharmaceutical company, lectured psychology at two South African universities, built and ran a property management company from the ground up, worked as a real estate consultant across international markets, and wrote and delivered corporate training programmes internationally.
Nothing was wasted. It was all transferable.
The career I once thought I kept changing was quietly becoming the work I was uniquely qualified to do. I believe the same may be true for you.
